Use AI with KISOP
Choose an approach only when it helps with the outcome you want. KISOP does not require an AI account, an AI model, or an AI-generated answer.
Start with the real-world goal.
A walk, a conversation, a paper checklist, or a clinician may be more useful than an AI system. If AI adds something useful, this section helps you see the tradeoffs before connecting it to information about your life.
Choose an approach
| Approach | Where it runs | Good first question | Status here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude | Provider service | What information would leave my control? | Field guide; architecture concept |
| ChatGPT | Provider service | What settings, retention rules, and connections apply? | Field guide; architecture concept |
| Copilot | Provider service and connected products | Which account and organization controls the data path? | Field guide; architecture concept |
| Muse (Meta) | An agent acting on your accounts from a machine Meta operates | Who operates the machine that holds my archive, and who holds the key? | Field guide, dated September 8, 2026; no architecture |
| Open or local models | Your device or a machine you choose | Can the useful work happen without sending the record away? | Concept; hardware and testing needed |
The dated Keeping Your Data Safe with AI Tools field guide compares current products. These are not endorsements.
What every reference architecture must show
- The outcome it is meant to support—and a non-AI alternative.
- What runs on your device, what crosses a network, and what the provider may retain.
- How the Consent Gate limits and records access.
- Accounts, costs, settings, and required technical skill.
- What was tested, with which version, and on what date.
- Known risks, situations where it should not be used, and how to disconnect it.
Open and local models
Local models may keep more information on a machine a person controls, but “local” does not automatically mean private, accurate, secure, or easy to maintain. A useful architecture must name the model, hardware, supporting software, network behavior, update path, and tests. KISOP has not yet published a tested local-model setup.
