Your local community is the place where you live: your street, your town, your county. A community of interest is the people who share something with you, wherever they live: a condition such as heart disease, a stage of life such as aging in place, a cause, a craft. A community of practice is the people who share a practice with you: the same ring, the same sensor, the same method. The first two have their own sections below; Communities of Practice has its own page.
Help your environmenta tree, your water, your air
Help your neighborsfood, housing, helping when needed
Prepare for disastersprepare for earthquakes, fires, and storms
We don't know which services are available in your town. These services exist in almost every town; save what you find in your archive's My Community folder.
A community of interest brings together people who share a condition, a stage of life, or a concern, wherever they live. Here are two examples of what members could do together:
What you learn from a community of interest goes in your archive next to your own records, and you decide who sees it. You can use the same tools for both kinds of community: make a plan together, buy together, and share only what you choose. Pages for particular communities of interest are not built yet.
A community of practice brings together people who share a practice, wherever they live: wearing the same ring each night, using the same sensor, or following the same method each morning. Records from the practice belong in your archive. Each member chooses what to share. The first proposed community is for people who wear a smart ring. Communities of practice describes the proposal.
A useful local service can also be a way to earn a living. KISOP’s economic plans include locally owned businesses supported by shared tools and operating methods. Local residents would help identify needs, and local teams would build and run the services.
The aim is to create paid work and a practical path to ownership for people who face financial or other barriers to getting started. Business support and financing partnerships remain proposed.
