Help build in the open

Jobs Board

The Jobs Board lists every job the community has requested or built along with its status. Funded jobs are built by paid builders and released to everyone. The roles and working arrangements are explained on Ways to Work Together.

How a job gets done here

KISOP grows by funded jobs: name a tool the community needs, fund it, build it; then it belongs to everyone, forever.

1 · Name

Someone names a job to be done — a tool, a translation, a law page.

2 · Fund

Funders back it. Budgets are open, and no funder ever gets exclusive rights.

3 · Build

A builder builds it. Tests and reviews are public.

4 · Released

It's released to everyone — and can never be taken away.

A pledge records interest. No money has moved, and none can until an open fiscal host exists. Every button on this page is just an email to Carmen.

One job, J-LR, carries a seven-step lifecycle of its own, because the knowledge it builds has to stay current after it is released. Its record shows the steps and the work packages inside it.

Every job on the board

One row for each, the newest job first within each state. The mark and the word both say the state, because color alone should never have to carry it. Open a job to see its whole record — budget, pledges, payments, releases, and the log of everything that has happened to it.

Nothing you type leaves this page. There is no account to make and no server behind this page. Nothing here tracks you. The filters and the search run in this browser, on a file that shipped with the site. This page remembers nothing about you between visits, so there is nothing here to forget.

Name a job to be done

Anyone may propose a tool, translation, law page, or other missing community resource. The rest happens in public: a budget is posted before funding opens, a builder is paid, and the work is released to everyone.

Where this stands

What runs today: this board, every job's whole record, the filters and the search, all of it in your browser, read from one file that ships with the site (assets/jobs-data.js). There is no server behind it and no account in front of it. The board changes when someone commits a change to that file. Its history is the audit trail, and every change is public before it is anything else.

Next reviews: Carmen's review and a Spanish edition in her voice are both pending. Written August 4, 2026.

Every job has a steward who answers for its record. The steward's desk is where that record is kept. The desk is public, like everything else here, and opening it gives you no authority. A change becomes real only when a person with publishing rights commits it.
