Explore artificial intelligence systems without surrendering your archive. Learn how different systems work, understand their risks and rules, and help build public knowledge that everyone can use.
Using an artificial-intelligence system is optional. The person's outcome is the goal.
KISOP starts with the outcome a person wants. If you want to improve your heart health, taking a walk with a friend may help. No model or chatbot is needed. A person may choose a model-based tool to explain information or prepare a question, but the tool should never displace the practical step, the person beside you, or your own judgment.
KISOP is building the economic engine for open-source communities, one that benefits the local communities around them.
No license is attached yet. Counsel is choosing the instrument. Until it lands, these lines are a dated promise of direction, and the Terms still govern. Details: the registry's rights section · the contribution guide · KISOP's own directory entry.
Compare Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and open or local models. See what leaves your device and what remains only a proposal.
LibraryBrowse articles and readings by subject, then follow the sources rather than taking KISOP's word for them.
Public rulesFind laws, privacy questions, KISOP's AI rules, and a plain disclosure of how this site is made.
Plain definitionsDistinguish language-model chatbots, predictive systems, world models, embodied systems, and physical machines.
Open workReview a reference architecture, test a claim, contribute research, or take on a defined job.
Fund the workFollow plans for art and merchandise whose proceeds would help pay for public-interest work.
The Personal Neutral Archive, Consent Gate, Together Protocol, message delivery, and community applications are the core system. None requires a conversational AI. Paper, ordinary software, and help from other people remain valid paths.
The field of artificial intelligence has its own visible section because its systems, companies, infrastructure, and laws are changing quickly and affecting everyday life. People should be able to understand them without needing to work in technology.
This Commons does not assume that every system in the field is good or bad. Each entry asks what the system does, who built and operates it, who benefits, who bears the risk, what alternatives exist, and what a person can verify.
The structure is live; much of the collection is still being assembled. Reference architectures, laws, company entries, and research notes carry dates and status labels. A page marked Draft or Concept is not a tested instruction.
